Gazpromneft-Lubricants has started its marine oils business in 2012 when the company conducted a tendering procedure for a licensor among the world's leading manufacturers of marine lubricants. The winner was the American company Chevron, which signed an agreement with Gazprom Neft that lead to the launch of production and sale of Texaco marine lubes in Russia, the CIS and the Baltic countries. The products were put into production immediately after the signing: the production was established on Gazprom Neft's own assets - Omsk and Moscow Lubricant plants. And in September 2012 the first shipment of Texaco oils from Omsk to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky took place.
At the same time with the launch of the production, the establishment of supply network has been started in Russia. Despite the numerous difficulties associated with the shortage of experienced contractors, the lack of special vehicles and oils filling terminals, the company managed to organize bunkering in the North-West, Far East and the Southern Federal District. An advanced supply network for the marine business of Gazpromneft-Lubricants was formed in 2014, including not only in the ports of Russia, but also in the Baltic States, as well as in the CIS countries. This allowed to supply bulk and packaged marine oils from the berth and roads in the shortest possible time.
A huge amount of tasks has been solved for the 5 years: own logistics network was built, the certification of production and recipes was acquired, an experience in the international supply network of the industry leader was gained, and also its own clients’ database of Russian and foreign shipowners was formed. Gazpromneft-Lubricants became one of the leaders at production and sales of marine lubricants in Russia in 2015.
In the spring 2017, Gazpromneft-Lubricants opened its office in Far East. It helped to eliminate the time zone factor when working with customers, improved the performance and the speed of supply in the ports of the region.
